Valeo

Our Story

About Valeo

Valeo offers enrichment and support for homeschooled youth in Skagit County, especially teens and tweens seeking something different from a traditional classroom experience. Activities emphasize positive values, holistic well-being, movement, outdoor time, and creative, hands-on learning. Families can participate in one or two half-days each week, drop in for classes and activities, or join specialty courses that meet weekly for a semester or full school year. The main program includes martial arts and other sports and PE games, STEM, art, cooking, chess and board games, nature-based outings, career exploration, and character and leadership activities. Movement is woven throughout the day, and classes are mostly hands-on and project-based. Valeo also offers a monthly parent book club. Contact the program for current specialty course offerings. Valeo is Latin for “to be well” in a holistic sense: mind, body, and spirit. The phrase “Si vales, valeo” means “If you are well, I am well.” The program seeks to strengthen and encourage one another’s spiritual, academic, and physical well-being and growth.
