Our Story

About God's Grace Family Ministries

Growing in my faith and love for helping others, I was led in this direction by a friend who traveled to Uganda and grew to love the culture, their way of life, and their resilience. I also became involved through a young pastor, Amumpaire Peter, from Ishongororo in the Ibanda District of Central Uganda. He was struggling to care for eight children without families to support them. He, his mother, and his brother lived with the children in a rundown, three-room home. This is when I came along. God calls us at times we least expect. Peter and Vanessa, now our longest-serving group member, prayed and fasted for three days, petitioning the Lord to provide a way to build a children's home because so many children were in need. They then asked me to join their efforts, and without a second thought, I said yes. Today, we have grown and continued in prayer, allowing God to guide every step we take. In less than three years, we have built a home for the children and found sponsors who provide tuition, clothing, and food. We are growing faster than we ever dreamed, and as we welcome more children, more resources are needed. God has provided this oasis in the desert for those who have joined the Children's Home of Hope family. We have much more to do, including expanding our food supply through agriculture, finishing a larger building with more children's dormitories, and building a church and school to provide full services on site. As we move toward a brighter tomorrow for those in need, we pray that God will bring others who share our heart and compassion. I know God is doing great things in our lives and in the lives of those we serve, so we will continue to do all things in Christ our Savior's name, as "We walk by faith, not by sight!"

I believe the Lord led me into outreach work to serve children in need of education, food, and shelter in Western Uganda. As a mother of four, I carry a deep love for children and a strong desire to nurture, protect, and help give them a better life. Serving these children has been the most fulfilling calling of my life, and I am honored to walk alongside them with compassion, faith, and hope for their future.

Growing up in poverty gave me a vision and a deep compassion for those in need. God led me to individuals who shared that same vision, and together we could not stand by and watch others suffer without taking action. Through God's grace and mercy, He has allowed us to do His work in Western Uganda, serving in a small capacity while making a big difference in the lives of these children. My life is devoted to this children's home and to the community we are honored to serve.
